Systems Over Heroics

Every operation has a moment where someone stays late and saves the day. It feels good, and it is occasionally necessary. The trouble starts when it becomes the plan.

A system, once built correctly, does not need a hero. It needs maintenance, which is quieter and far less expensive than rescue.

We are not opposed to urgency when urgency is real. We are opposed to treating urgency as a permanent operating mode, because it hides the fact that no one has built the thing that would make the emergency unnecessary.
